AA batteries are much less expensive and have much greater energy capacity than AAA types. Few of the other choices used AA batteries. The units arrived on time, work very well, and are nearly perfect for my applications (again, except they should have a photo cell to prevent operation during times when the background light level is high). From a "Price-Performance standpoint, they are at the top of the stack! The absence of the light sensor caused me to remove one of the five 'stars' in the rating. Works fine, not as bright as I would have liked   July 27, 2010 Shiloh The motion sensing works great and reliably and the unit is light and easy to install with whatever you want to use. We used some sticky backed velcro to mount it in a wardrobe where we wanted the light to come on whenever we opened the door. It works well for that but I'm disappointed in the amount of light that it gives off. It's better than nothing but nowhere near what I was expecting based on the number of LEDs in the array and from some of the reviews here on Amazon. I did try two sets of batteries from new, unopened packages just to be sure it wasn't a voltage issue but no luck. Based on the amount of light given off I have a hard time recommending this for anything other than giving some light to a dark hallway or stairway where you just need enough light to keep you from tripping over things in the dark. I can't say that it gives a functional amount of light for a closet or a wardrobe as in our application. Great But Not Weather approve.   July 13, 2010 Abdulrahman Alshareef It provide a great amount of light, but its made of very cheap plastic and its not weatherproof. you can see that dust/moister could easily make this thing stop working. i bought it for my truck to light up the box when the top cover is on. it does the job but i wonder for how long. specially with it being NOT weatherproof or water proof at least. i worry every time i wash my car and try not to get close to it .. WORKS GREAT! Excellent sensitivity to motion. Bright. Stays on 30 seconds, then off. Note 2: It seems fairly cheaply made and virtually no instructions. BUT works perfectly and don't see any reason why it need to feel or be of any heavier or more durable plastic.
